Russian MP affirms strong, unbreakable relations with Azerbaijan
Alexey Chepa, a member of the Russian State Duma, and First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, reaffirmed the strength and resilience of the long-standing relationship between his country and Azerbaijan.
Speaking at a roundtable titled “Three years of the declaration on allied interaction between Russia and Azerbaijan”, Chepa emphasized that attempts to disrupt the friendly and brotherly ties between the two nations will be unsuccessful, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
"Russia and Azerbaijan have been co-operating successfully for the past three years, and no force can destroy the century-old friendly and brotherly relations between our countries," Chepa stated confidently.
Reflecting on the significant milestones achieved, Chepa highlighted that the signing of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation three years ago marked a new era for bilateral relations, propelling them to an entirely new level. The Declaration has allowed both countries to deepen their political, economic, and security cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to both sides.
He also pointed to a major achievement in bilateral ties, noting that the signing of an important roadmap on economic development for 2026 a year ago has further solidified their partnership. "This is a key moment that will determine the interaction not only between Russia and Azerbaijan but also the development of the entire region," Chepa explained.
He expressed confidence that both countries would jointly work toward fulfilling the goals outlined in the roadmap, paving the way for continued growth and collaboration.
Chepa underscored Azerbaijan’s pivotal role in the region, emphasizing that the tasks set forth in the roadmap would be systematically achieved in the coming years. As the two countries continue to build on their solid foundations, Chepa expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, stressing that mutual efforts would ensure continued success.
