Russian Su-34 strikes Ukrainian armoured vehicle concentration with guided bombs VIDEO
Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber crew carried out an airstrike on a concentration of Ukrainian armoured vehicles in the area of responsibility of the “Southern” troop grouping.
The strike was executed using air-dropped bombs equipped with a universal guidance and correction module, allowing high-precision targeting without entering the range of enemy air defences, Caliber.Az reports via the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Su‑34, NATO reporting name “Fullback,” is a twin‑seat Russian fighter‑bomber designed for long‑range strike missions against ground targets, with a side‑by‑side cockpit, advanced radar, and capacity to carry heavy payloads including precision weapons.
Since the full‑scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Su‑34 has been heavily employed in aerial bombardment and stand‑off strike roles, often using guided munitions and stand-off weapons to hit Ukrainian positions while trying to stay out of range of enemy air defences.
A notable evolution in its operational use has been the integration of universal guidance modules (UMPK) on conventional bombs, effectively turning them into glide‑capable precision‑guided weapons, which increases strike range and reduces exposure to hostile air defences.
