Russian tourists plan to visit Azerbaijan on May holidays
Some 10.42 per cent of Russian tourists have bought air tickets to Azerbaijan for the May holidays (weekend in Russia from April 27 to May 12 in honour of May Day and Victory Day).
This is 2.9 percentage points less than in the same period of 2023, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Azerbaijan took the 4th place in the list of popular destinations among tourists from Russia, having lost one line compared to the same period of 2023.
The top 3 countries where Russian tourists bought the most air tickets include Uzbekistan (13.23 per cent), Belarus (12.55 per cent) and Türkiye (11.9 per cent).
During the reporting period, 83.3 per cent of Russian tourists bought air tickets to domestic destinations, 11.6 per cent to neighbouring countries, 4 per cent to non-CIS countries and 1.1 per cent to European countries. Most domestic air tickets were purchased to Moscow (14.3 per cent), St. Petersburg (10 per cent), Sochi (9.1 per cent), Kaliningrad (5.7 per cent) and Mineralnye Vody (4.7 per cent).
