Saudi Arabia interested in joining Azerbaijan's electricity exports to Europe

19 December 2022 12:39

Saudi Arabia wants to participate in the exports of electricity from Azerbaijan to Europe.

According to Report, the Minister of Investments of Saudi Arabia, co-chair of the joint commission between the two countries Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Falih made the remarks during his speech at the 7th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia joint commission in Baku.

The Saudi minister announced his intention to join the document signed a few days ago.

“As you know, Acwa Power is implementing a 240 MW energy project in Azerbaijan. However, this is not enough for us. We would like to implement larger energy projects and join the agreement signed by Azerbaijan a few days ago in connection with the export of electricity to Europe,” he said.

Earlier on December 17, the signing of the "Agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary" took place in Bucharest, Romania.
