08 August 2022 00:34
An international team of scientists has found the ruins of an ancient Egyptian temple of the sun god Ra during excavations.
The building was noticed about 20 kilometres from Cairo, next to the temple complex of Abu Ghurab, Lenta.ru reports with reference to the Live Science newspaper.
A preliminary assessment revealed the approximate age of the object - more than 4,500 years. The construction of the object took place during the Fifth Dynasty (2465-2323 BC), during the peak of the popularity of the cult of Ra. Experts believe that the temple may be one of four Sun temples whose location has been lost.
