The BMP-1 armoured infantry fighting vehicle is intended to operate jointly with tanks in combat and transport personnel. The fighting vehicle was adopted by the USSR in 1966. It was serially produced from 1966 to 1983. It was used during the war in Afghanistan and many other military conflicts. Then the improved model BMP-2 was started to be produced on the basis of BMP-1.
