Slovenian FM: Visit to Azerbaijan could be a turning point for regional development
Azerbaijan has become one of the most dynamically developing and prominent economies in the region, attracting global investment, said Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon during the Azerbaijan-Slovenia Business Forum in Baku.
“As a key player on the international stage, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a hub for trade, industry, and innovation,” she said, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In turn, she noted that Slovenia aims to deepen economic cooperation with Azerbaijan across various sectors, strengthen partnership ties, and open up new opportunities for growth.
According to Fajon, Slovenia sees key areas of interest in pharmaceuticals, the development of small and medium-sized hydropower plants, photovoltaics, ICT infrastructure, the electrical engineering industry, wellness tourism, and agriculture.
“In these turbulent times, we must firmly assert that dialogue and mutual understanding must prevail over conflict and division throughout the world. I am glad to be in Baku at this very moment—a moment of hope and a historic opportunity for peace in the Caucasus. This could become a turning point for both regional development and trade with Europe,” the minister emphasised.
