SOCAR: Azerbaijan becomes leading reliable energy supplier in region

President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf has said that Azerbaijan has become a leading reliable energy supplier in the region.

Najaf made these remarks at a conference on “Heydar Aliyev’s successful foreign policy and Azerbaijan’s new oil strategy” held at ADA University within the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, Report informs citing SOCAR.

He noted that the new energy strategy, determined by the wise, foresighted national leader, has laid the foundation for Azerbaijan’s comprehensive development.

Najaf emphasised that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev turned modern Azerbaijan, created by Heydar Aliyev, into a country with inclusive development, a powerful army and strong international influence.

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, as well as rectors of universities where lectures are held, students, SOCAR volunteers attended the conference.

Before the event, participants viewed the exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. During the conference, participants revered the memory of the martyrs by a minute of silence. Video footage dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev and youth, as well as lectures and tours organised by SOCAR in higher educational institutions within the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, were demonstrated.

Moderator of the conference, Vice-Rector of ADA University Fariz Ismayilzade, informed about the international conference, forum and workshops organised by the university within the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”.

While speaking at the conference, Hajiyev noted that the creation and strengthening of modern Azerbaijani statehood is directly related to great leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that after the national leader returned to power, the main directions for Azerbaijan’s dynamic development were determined at the insistence of people.

In his speech, Amrullayev spoke about the strategic development concept, authored by the national leader, and one of its main directions is the strengthening of human capital, as well as the fundamental work in the field of highly qualified human resources.
