SOCAR begins gas supplies to Slovenia

The State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has commenced gas supplies to Slovenia, marking a significant step in enhancing bilateral energy cooperation.

This development follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on July 17, 2024, between SOCAR and Geoplin, Slovenia's largest natural gas company, to expand collaboration in the gas sector, Caliber.Az reports via local media, citing the company.

This partnership aligns with Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to diversify its energy export markets and strengthen ties with European countries, particularly in the context of Europe's ongoing efforts to reduce reliance on Russian energy sources.

The agreement between SOCAR and Geoplin represents a strategic move towards securing a stable and diversified energy supply for Slovenia, further solidifying Azerbaijan’s role as a key player in the European energy market.
