SOCAR explores new opportunities in renewables, decarbonisation with Wood Mackenzie PHOTO

The president of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) has discussed opportunities to expand cooperation with leading energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie, who are specializing in the fields of renewable energy and natural resources.

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Wood Mackenzie Chairman and Chief Analyst Simon Flowers in Baku on July 22, Caliber.Az reports citing information provided by the state oil company.

According to SOCAR, the meeting underscored Azerbaijan's growing role as a reliable partner in global energy markets.

Najaf outlined SOCAR's strategic priorities, including the company's ongoing transformation into an international energy company, and provided an overview of its projects in Azerbaijan and abroad.

The two sides also reviewed the successful partnership between SOCAR and Wood Mackenzie and exchanged views on its future development. Discussions covered key trends shaping global energy markets, as well as opportunities for closer cooperation in oil and gas processing, renewable energy, decarbonization, digitalisation, and the application of analytical solutions across the energy sector.
