SOCAR strengthens security measures at offshore facilities due to bad weather
Due to a sharp change in weather conditions from February 7 until noon on February 10, security measures have been strengthened at offshore facilities of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR).
SOCAR said this in response to Report's request.
According to the information, work at production sites, which is dangerous to perform in such weather conditions, is limited as much as possible.
To recall, the National Hydrometeorological Service of the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry announced that on February 7, starting from the second half of the day until noon on February 10, in the Caspian Sea, the speed of the north-north-west wind will increase to 18-23 m/s, sometimes up to 25- 28 m/s.
According to the forecast, from noon on February 8 to noon on February 9, the wind speed in the open sea will reach 30-35 m/s. Wave height can reach 3-5 metres, and sometimes 6-8 metres.
