SOCAR, TotalEnergies discuss full-scale development of Absheron field

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and French energy firm TotalEnergies discussed the prospects for full-scale development of the Absheron gas-condensate field.

The talks took place during a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and TotalEnergies Vice President Martina Opizzi, held within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the Green Energy Advisory Council sessions, Caliber.Az reports per SOCAR.

Both sides emphasised the importance of Azerbaijan-initiated energy projects, including the Southern Gas Corridor, for European energy security. They reviewed the progress of joint projects, including operational results at the Absheron gas-condensate field, and discussed ongoing work on its full-scale development.

The discussions also covered energy security, digitalisation, sustainable development priorities, and other topics of mutual interest.
