SOCAR, TotalEnergies, XRG hold talks on development of Absheron gas field Photo

On April 15, 2026, senior energy officials from Azerbaijan, France, and the United Arab Emirates held discussions in Baku focused on the development of the Absheron gas-condensate field.

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Nicolas Terraz, President of Exploration & Production at TotalEnergies, and Bassem Tadros, Chief Vice President for International Assets Management at XRG, Caliber.Az reports per SOCAR press service. 

According to SOCAR, the meeting reviewed progress on the full-scale development of the Absheron field, assessed results achieved to date, and discussed upcoming phases of implementation.

The parties also exchanged views on additional areas of mutual interest related to ongoing and future cooperation in the energy sector.
