SOCAR, Uzbekneftegaz to accelerate seismic exploration in Ustyurt region PHOTO
The State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Uzbekistan’s national energy company, Uzbekneftegaz, have agreed to speed up seismic exploration activities in the Ustyurt region as part of their ongoing partnership in oil and gas development.
According to Caliber.Az, agreement was reached during a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Bahodirjon Sidikov on the sidelines of the OGT-2025 conference.
The discussions took place in what both sides described as a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, underscoring the strong level of cooperation between the two state-owned companies.
According to Uzbekneftegaz’s press service, the talks focused on implementing the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) covering geological exploration in the Ustyurt region. Particular attention was given to accelerating the start of seismic surveying work.
The two companies also agreed on a set of measures aimed at expediting field operations, ensuring the necessary technical and logistical support, and improving the efficiency of the project’s current phase.
In addition, SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz outlined plans to deepen collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and automated management systems to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and promote environmental sustainability.
