Stoltenberg convenes Ukraine-NATO Council

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg agreed to Ukraine’s request to convene a meeting of the newly-created NATO-Ukraine Council to "consult on recent developments".

Spokesperson for the alliance Oana Lungescu said that the meeting will take place on July 26 at the level of ambassadors to "consult on recent developments and discuss the transportation of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea".

In the July 22 evening video message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during a telephone conversation, he asked Stoltenberg to urgently convene the Ukraine-NATO council because of Russia's steps in the Black Sea.
