Syrian president arrives in Russia for first official visit

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has arrived in Russia on his first working visit, a Syrian diplomatic source told TASS.

According to the Kremlin press service, President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold talks with al-Sharaa on October 15.

The agenda includes discussions on the current state and future prospects of Russian-Syrian relations across political, trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres, as well as an exchange of views on the latest developments in the Middle East.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added that the talks will also address the issue of Russia’s military bases in Syria.
