Tajik family found dead in Russia's Samara
A Tajik man, his wife, and their five-year-old daughter died in the Russian city of Samara after being poisoned by gas.
The tragedy occurred on January 7, but relatives learned about it only a day later, a friend of the deceased's family said, Caliber.Az reports via Tajik media.
According to him, relatives in Tajikistan were unable to reach the family for a long time. Later, family members living in Samara went to their apartment and, after breaking down the door, discovered the bodies.
The deceased woman was pregnant, he said.
He added that on January 11, the bodies were sent to Tajikistan. All of the victims were residents of the city of Bokhtar. Relatives also said that last year the family had already suffered a tragedy in Samara, when their three-year-old son died in an apartment fire. After that, the woman repeatedly asked her husband to return to their homeland.
It is known that the family had purchased an apartment in one of Bokhtar’s apartment buildings and was waiting for renovation work to be completed in order to move permanently to Tajikistan.
As a reminder, every year with the onset of cold weather, rural residents in Tajikistan—and sometimes city dwellers as well—begin heating their homes with coal, often neglecting basic safety rules.
