"There are no foreign military contingents on the territory of Azerbaijan" Statement by Media Development Agency

Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency (MEDIA) has said in a statement that the information that Israel has forbidden its servicemen to stay in Azerbaijan is false.

"There is no military contingent of any foreign state on the territory of Azerbaijan and we condemn any information manipulation on this topic," the statement reads, according to Caliber.Az.

The Agency noted that media resources of some countries, citing untrustworthy sources, spread disinformation about Azerbaijan aimed at misleading the local and international public: "Under the influence of disinformation, Iran International TV channel, The Telegraph and Kan Agency resorted to informational manipulation and spread untrue reports that allegedly Israel banned its soldiers from staying in Azerbaijan".

MEDIA emphasised that all media outlets, regardless of the country in which they operate, should follow the same ethical principles of journalism.

"We believe it is unacceptable for some local media outlets to replicate such materials after disseminating them on the social media segment," the Agency added.
