Top Turkish lawmaker: Zangezur Corridor to strengthen ties within Turkic world
The Zangezur Corridor will serve as a key link in strengthening connections across the Turkic world and promoting regional peace and development, Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, stated.
While addressing journalists in Baku, Fuat Oktay emphasised that the project not only links Nakhchivan with the main part of Azerbaijan but also strengthens ties between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and the wider Turkic world, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He added that, in the long term, the corridor could create broader opportunities for other regional players as well.
“As sustainable peace is achieved in the region, this project can also open stronger prospects for Russia and Iran. We hope it will be implemented soon. It is directly linked to the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the signing of a final peace agreement,” Oktay concluded.
