Tourist helicopter crashes in Dagestan, leaving four dead

A tourist helicopter has crashed in Russia’s Dagestan region, leaving several people dead.

According to Caliber.Az, citing the Russian Telegram channel SHOT, four people were killed in the accident. The Ka-226 helicopter was carrying a total of seven people when it went down.

Reports indicate that the crash occurred at approximately 14:50 local time near the Caspian Sea coastline, close to the village of Achi-Su, located about 40 kilometres from the regional capital, Makhachkala. The area is known for its beaches and recreational facilities.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident.
