Trump to return to UK for historic second state visit, Buckingham Palace confirms
On June 25, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will host US President Donald Trump for a state visit to the United Kingdom later this year, following an official invitation extended in February.
The visit will mark a historic occasion, as President Trump becomes the first elected political leader in modern times to be granted two state visits by a British monarch, Caliber.Az reports, referencing foreign media.
His previous state visit to the UK took place in 2019 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
Although a specific date for the visit has not yet been announced, preparations are underway for what is expected to be a grand display of British ceremonial tradition, celebrating the enduring partnership between the United Kingdom and the United States.
“His Majesty has known President Trump for many years and looks forward to hosting him and the First Lady later this year,” a Buckingham Palace aide stated.
British state visits traditionally feature a formal carriage procession through central London and a state banquet at Buckingham Palace, attended by senior members of the royal family, government officials, and invited guests.
Last week, the Manu Regia — the official ceremonial invitation that signals the beginning of formal planning — was hand-delivered to the White House by British officials. Confirmation of the trip’s exact date is expected in due course.
