Turkish authorities eliminate Alevler gang in Hatay operation
In a significant crackdown on organized crime, Turkish authorities have successfully eliminated the notorious Alevler gang as part of Operation Mahzen-21 in the province of Hatay.
The operation, aimed at combating various criminal activities, particularly focused on dismantling an organized crime group (OCG) involved in smuggling immigrants.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, announced the successful operation via his official social media account on X, shedding light on the extensive efforts undertaken by law enforcement agencies, Caliber.Az reports.

A total of 13 suspects, including the gang's leader Suleiman Alev, were apprehended during the operation.
“During the operation, an organized criminal organization for smuggling immigrants known as Alevler was destroyed and 13 suspects were detained, including the leader Suleiman Alev. As a result of operational search activities, two cars, unlicensed weapons and ammunition were seized,” the statement says.
The Alevler gang, notorious for its involvement in smuggling activities, posed a significant threat to the security and stability of the region.
