Turkish commandos discover large PKK arms cache PHOTO
As part of an anti-terrorist operation in Van Province in the southeast of Türkiye, the Turkish security forces have discovered a large weapons cache belonging to the PKK terrorists.
The Buyuk Tendurek (3,533 metres) and Kuchuk Tendurek (3,291 metres) mountains, located between Dogubayazit in the Agrin and Chaldiran districts of Van, were cleared of terrorists during recent operations, according to TRT Haber.
More than 150 bunkers, shelters and caves, which had been used by terrorists for many years in the mountainous region, were destroyed, and many weapons and ammunition were confiscated.
During the operations, five members of the organization, including (four terrorists included in the "List of wanted for terrorism" of the Turkish Interior Ministry) were neutralised.
The Turkish commandos determined that about 70 caves were used as shelters, and about 40 were used as warehouses for food, ammunition and logistics.
Moreover, a large cave with nine rooms, about 50 metres long, with kitchens, toilets and warehouses, was discovered, which the terrorists had used for years for shelter and organisational training.
It contained two generators, gas cylinders, nine batteries, portable solar panels, cables, a stove, fuel cans, clothes, shoes, pots and pans, blankets, an iron, medicine, a large amount of food, books and organizational documents.
Many Kalashnikov assault rifles, 80,000 bullets for various weapons, 16 hand grenades, pistols, and magazines were also seized.
