Turkish intelligence neutralises high-ranked PKK terrorist in Iraq
The Turkish National Intelligence Organisation (MİT) has neutralised a dangerous PKK terrorist who was recruiting personnel from Europe for a terrorist organisation in Iraq's Sulaymaniyah province.
Turkish security sources told TRT Haber that the terrorist Faik Aydın, codenamed "Renas Raperin", who was involved in terrorist activities in Europe, had been pressuring local residents of Sulaymaniyah to support and participate in the organisation after moving to Iraq.
Faik Aydın was neutralised in an operation carried out by MİT officers in Iraq, 160 kilometres from Türkiye.
Turkish authorities use the term "neutralise" to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organisation by Türkiye, the US, and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
