Turkish media claims Iranian influence in assault on SOCAR’s Istanbul office VIDEO
The Turkish TV channel Haber Global has aired a story in which the true purpose of the group of radicals who attacked the Istanbul office of SOCAR, calling themselves supporters of Palestine, was revealed.
The material states that the attackers failed to undermine relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, according to Report.
It was later learnt that most of the protesters supported the activities of terrorist groups fighting against Türkiye in Syria and Iraq.
"Supporters of a terrorist organisation, voicing slanderous claims that oil is allegedly being sold to Israel through Türkiye, attacked the office of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company in Istanbul. The attackers broke windows, tried to break doors and shouted threats. The main target of the marginalised radicals posing as pro-Gaza activists was Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship. The group tried to vilify Azerbaijan with lies and slander," the report said.
"The above clearly shows that the real goal is not to support Gaza. There is an Iranian trace in the organisation of this action. Thus, the attack on the office was carried out by Iranian-backed groups. The Palestinian issue, which is sensitive to the Turks, is used as a tool," the piece emphasises.
It is reported that after the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories from occupation, pro-Western forces resort to various provocations in an attempt to spoil relations between Baku and Ankara.
"But these attempts are futile, such actions will not give any result," the story says.
