Turkish Parliament to convene closed session on Israel's threats
The Turkish Parliament is set to hold a closed session on October 8 to address the escalating tensions in the region and assess potential threats posed by Israel.
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus confirmed that during this session, government officials, including the foreign and defence ministers, will provide detailed briefings on the situation, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The initiative for a closed-door discussion was prompted by a request from Murat Emir, deputy chairman of the faction of the Republican People's Party.
This follows recent comments by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who suggested that Türkiye is also a target of Israeli aggression, alongside Palestine and Lebanon.
Erdogan's statements have ignited a robust debate among Turkish politicians and experts, leading to calls for the government to clarify the extent and nature of the perceived threat from Israel against Türkiye.
