Türkiye arrests suspected Mossad agent in Istanbul spy probe PHOTO
Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MİT), working with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Istanbul Police Department, has detained Serkan Çiçek on suspicion of working for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.
Thus, MİT identified Çiçek as having links with Faisal Rasheed, a member of Mossad’s online operations centre, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Çiçek allegedly admitted to cooperating with Rasheed in surveillance activities targeting a Palestinian activist critical of Israel’s Middle East policies.
Investigators said Çiçek was born as Muhammet Fatih Keleş but changed his name after running into heavy debts in business. He later established a private investigations company, Pandora Detective Agency, in 2020.
MİT said that during his detective work, Çiçek became acquainted with Musa Kuş, who has since been jailed for 19 years for spying for Israel, and lawyer Tuğrulhan Dip, both of whom were previously charged with supplying personal data from public records for financial gain.
It was reported that Rasheed, posing as an employee of a foreign law firm, contacted Çiçek via WhatsApp on July 31, 2025.
He asked him to carry out a four-day surveillance operation on a Palestinian activist living in Istanbul’s Başakşehir district, offering $4,000 in cryptocurrency as payment.
Despite being aware of Kuş’s conviction for working with Israel, Çiçek allegedly accepted the assignment.
