Türkiye, Bulgaria to sign agreement for more gas supplies from Azerbaijan
Türkiye and Bulgaria will sign an agreement to sign an agreement at the end of April on expanding the gas infrastructure between the two countries, as well as contracts with Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, which will increase the volume of natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan to European countries.
The announcement came from the Minister of Energy of the Technical Government of Bulgaria Rosen Hristov at a press briefing on April 12, Report informs, citing the Bulgarian state TV channel.
According to him, Bulgaria will receive LNG next year from the terminal in Greek Alexandroupolis via the Turkish port of Marmara-Ereglisi and Azerbaijani natural gas through the Bulgarian-Greek interconnector gas pipeline.
Currently, Bulgaria meets up to a third of its needs with pipeline gas from Azerbaijan. It comes through the Interconnector Greece - Bulgaria pipeline with a throughput capacity of 3 billion cubic meters per year.
