Türkiye, Indonesia to boost trade, cooperation across key sectors
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Türkiye will continue to collaborate with Indonesia in efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip, following more than 15 months of continuous Israeli attacks.
During a joint news conference with his counterpart, President Prabowo Subianto, Erdogan commended Jakarta's position on the Palestinian issue and emphasized Ankara's commitment to working alongside Indonesia on Gaza's reconstruction, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
He also reiterated his call for the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
“The establishment of a sovereign and territorially intact Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, cannot be delayed any further,” he added.
Erdogan emphasised that lasting stability in the region cannot be achieved until peace is established in Gaza and for the Palestinian people.
"The total damage caused by Israel's 15-month-long attacks is nearly $100 billion. According to legal principles, this damage should be collected from the perpetrator," he said, referring to Israel.
Erdogan and Subianto also revealed plans to enhance bilateral ties by boosting trade and fostering collaboration across various sectors.
"We discussed plans to expand our bilateral trade to $10 billion and to make it balanced," the Turkish president added.
