Türkiye rescues 26 migrants, including children, off Izmir coast PHOTO
A total of 26 irregular migrants, including two children, were rescued by Turkish authorities after their vessel was found drifting off the coast of western Türkiye, according to official reports.
The incident occurred near the district of Cesme in Izmir Province. The migrants were travelling in a rubber boat that became immobilised due to engine failure, leaving it adrift at sea.
As reported by TRT Haber, the Turkish Coast Guard Command received a distress signal once the vessel lost propulsion. In response, coast guard units were quickly deployed to the location.

Rescue teams successfully evacuated all individuals on board the boat. The group consisted of 26 migrants in total, including two children. No injuries or fatalities were reported during the operation.
Following the rescue, the migrants were transferred to the Izmir Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, where they will undergo standard administrative procedures in line with Türkiye’s migration regulations.
