Türkiye starts producing paints for military-industrial complex

29 June 2023 15:04

Turkish companies have switched to domestic paints for coating defence products, which was another step towards reducing the country's import dependence.

The Botek Ar-Ge Kimya AŞ company has become a major manufacturer of domestic paints for the needs of the military-industrial complex, whose high-quality products are already used by the country's leading harrowing companies, according to Anadolu.

Among others, paints produced by Botek Ar-Ge Kimya AŞ covered the latest development of Turkish engineers - the T925 helicopter, which was first presented at the Paris Airshow.

Emre Tuncer, Deputy General Director of Botek Ar-Ge Kimya AŞ Veysel said that the company continues to contribute to the development of the Turkish defence industry, constantly improving product quality.

According to him, in particular, domestic paints are in great demand among aircraft manufacturers, including the national aerospace company TUSAŞ.

Tuncer recalled that any defence products are at risk of sanctions, so it is important to establish domestic production.

A company representative said that Botek Ar-Ge Kimya AŞ paints can also be used for painting marine vessels and platforms.

“Marine transport manufacturers also have an urgent need for anti-corrosion paints. The paints that we also applied on the T925 helicopter have anti-corrosion properties and can also be used on offshore platforms,” he stated.

Among the customers of Botek Ar-Ge Kimya AŞ and drone manufacturer Baykar, as well as missile developer Roketsan.

Tuncer stressed that Turkish-made paints are in no way inferior to foreign analogues.
