Türkiye to invest in crop, livestock development in Azerbaijan
Chairman of the Turkish industrial company Alagöz Holding, Cantürk Alagöz, has agreed to invest in developing Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, particularly in crop and livestock production.
The announcement came during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, who highlighted the successful development of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in agriculture, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Agriculture.
He emphasised that both countries cooperate closely and effectively in agricultural research, education, cotton production, seed cultivation, veterinary medicine, agricultural insurance, and other areas.
“Noting the active participation of Turkish businessmen in investing in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, the minister highlighted the significant potential for cooperation in this field between the two countries,” the statement said.
Alagöz emphasized that the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan is supported by the state, which makes investment in the sector more attractive. He also noted that his company works closely with Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector and expressed interest in investing in the country’s agriculture.
“The parties agreed to attract investments in crop and livestock production, as well as to strengthen ties between entrepreneurs operating in these areas. A broad exchange of views took place on the prospects for future cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries, as well as on mechanisms of state support for agriculture,” the ministry added.
