Turkmen "Neptune" rig to be delivered to Baku following successful return of "Saturn" Photo
The Saturn drilling rig, which was transported from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in May last year, has been returned to Turkmen waters in the Caspian Sea, accompanied by vessels from ASCO, part of the AZCON Holding.
The head of the press service of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company (ASCO), Mehman Mehdiyev, stated that the rig was taken out of the Shikh Port under escort by the vessels Govsan, Govsan 2, and SOCAR 1, and later towed by Andoga, Shuvelan, and Mardakan, Caliber.Az reports.
The complex operation lasted three days and was completed with full adherence to safety protocols.
Upon their return from Turkmenistan, ASCO vessels will deliver the Neptune drilling rig to Azerbaijan. Preparations for its transportation are already underway.
