Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan eye expanded regional connectivity
Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are moving to deepen their ties following a high-level meeting in which Azerbaijan’s ambassador Gismet Gözalov was received by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Annayev.
During their talks in Ashgabat, both sides underscored the importance of sustained high-level dialogue and reciprocal visits in strengthening bilateral relations, as Caliber.Az reports citing Turkmen media.
They noted that cooperation between the two countries has reached a strategic level, driven by the political will of their respective leaders.
The officials also highlighted how their shared position along key transit routes creates strong opportunities for the maritime neighbours to expand regional connectivity and develop international transport corridors.
Gözalov and Annayev spoke highly of the work conducted by the joint intergovernmental commission, which is exploring cooperation in areas such as digital development, telecommunications infrastructure, and transport and logistics links.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening what they described as “brotherly” relations, with a focus on delivering concrete joint projects in high-tech and logistics sectors.
