Two new data centres to be launched in Azerbaijan
Two new data centres will be commissioned in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Samir Mammadov, said at the opening of the Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2023 event in Baku, Report informs.
“This will expand Azerbaijan's capabilities in the field of cloud services. More than 100 government institutions have already been integrated into the ‘Government Cloud’. Currently, cloud services are managed from two data centres located in Baku and Yevlakh. Two new data centres are being created to expand these services. We have already engaged an international partner for this,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, bp's vice president for external relations and communications in the Caspian region said that cybersecurity laboratories will be set up in two universities in Azerbaijan by the end of this year with the support of bp.
"We endeavour to support the formation of the younger generation through various social projects. Over the past year, we have supported the education of about 400 Azerbaijani youth in various cyber and information technology courses," he said.
