UAE says ready to support Azerbaijan in fulfilling megaprojects

The United Arab Emirates attaches great importance to energy cooperation with Azerbaijan and is ready to support it in the implementation of joint megaprojects.

UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail al-Mazrouei said this during a meeting with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov in Abu Dhabi, according to Trend.

Al-Mazrouei stressed the importance of international cooperation in the field of "green energy".

"We attach great importance to energy cooperation with Azerbaijan, express full support and are ready to implement joint megaprojects," he said.

In turn, Parviz Shahbazov said that energy occupies an important place in the development of Azerbaijani-UAE cooperation, and our country attaches strategic importance to these relations.

"Azerbaijan is currently focused on the development of electricity and hydrogen production from renewable energy sources, their integration into the country's energy network, transportation to EU markets, as well as the creation of the necessary infrastructure for this. Masdar is an important and reliable partner for us in achieving these goals," the minister said.

The Energy Ministry stressed that within the framework of the document signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary on cooperation in the field of development and future transportation of green energy, appropriate measures are being taken that will turn Azerbaijan into a major producer and reliable exporter of green energy.
