UK House of Lords highlights significance of COP29 in Baku PHOTO
The UK House of Lords inaugurated the 4th Global Energy Week, emphasizing the crucial role of the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku.
The event attracted notable figures, including members of the House of Lords, representatives from international and British energy firms, and diplomats, including Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Elin Suleymanov, Caliber.Az reports.
British Minister of State for Energy Security Lord Hunt addressed the event, underscoring the importance of COP29 and reaffirming the UK's commitment to collaborate closely with Azerbaijan. He expressed readiness to offer comprehensive support to ensure the event's success.
Lord Hunt’s remarks were echoed by David Evans, a member of the House of Lords, who praised Azerbaijan for its proactive efforts in organizing a platform for international climate discussions. Evans highlighted the pressing need for a “green transition” and expressed confidence in the positive outcomes of COP29 in Baku, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing climate change on a global scale.
