“We discussed with the company's management the preparations for the upcoming heating season and the needs of Ukraine's energy system. Key priorities include transformers, generators, and the formation of a reserve of critically important equipment for the rapid restoration of energy facilities following potential Russian attacks,” the minister said.
Shmyhal noted that the sides also discussed the protection of energy infrastructure. “We are seeking new solutions and technologies to enhance the resilience of energy facilities and discussed possible engineering approaches in this area,” he added.
The minister stressed that Azerbaijan remains an important partner for Ukraine in the energy sector. He said that during last winter’s most difficult period, the Azerbaijani side provided Ukraine with generators, transformers, cables, and other critical equipment.
“In total, throughout the full-scale war, Azerbaijan has announced 11 packages of energy support for Ukraine,” he wrote.
Shmyhal also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for consistent support of Ukraine and assistance in strengthening the resilience of the country’s energy system.
