Ukraine's health minister thanks Azerbaijan for humanitarian support
Ukrainian Health Minister Viktor Liashko expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its humanitarian support since Russia’s full-scale invasion, emphasising the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the field of medicine.
He made the remarks during the session "Bilateral Pharma Talk: From Dialogue to Cooperation: Pharmaceutical Opportunities of Ukraine and Azerbaijan," held as part of the 27th Azerbaijan International Medical Innovations Exhibition (Medinex 2025), as per domestic media reports.
Lyashko highlighted the need to continue collaboration with Ukraine despite the ongoing war. “We want to create conditions for Ukrainian companies to enter the local market, as well as a hub in Ukraine, which would provide access for Azerbaijani companies to European markets,” he said.
The minister underscored that medical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine should be grounded in a strategic partnership. “When interaction is built precisely as a partnership, we find points of contact that benefit both countries – Ukraine and Azerbaijan,” Liashko emphasised.
He also noted that he would hold meetings with Azerbaijan’s Ministers of Economy and Health to discuss further steps to strengthen collaboration between Kyiv and Baku, aiming to expand mutual opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.
