Ukraine says may face shortage of some products
03 March 2024 10:12
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyy on air of TV channel "Rada" predicted a shortage of some products, Lenta.ru reports.
He said that first of all lemons, oranges and other citrus fruits, as well as bananas, ocean fish and seafood may disappear from stores. The reasons for this situation, which the deputy minister characterized as complicated, were strikes by Polish farmers.
"There may indeed be a deficit on these groups, and the deficit in most cases leads to higher prices," said Vysotskyy.
In addition, the official explained that such products as meat, milk, cereals, flour, sugar and oil will not disappear from the consumer basket of Ukrainians, as their production is located in the country.
