Ukrainian forces attack Russia's Belgorod, injuring nine
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched an attack on Russia's Belgorod Region, resulting in injuries to nine people, including two children, according to the region's governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
Governor Gladkov shared the details of the incident on his Telegram channel, stating that in Belgorod city, eight civilians were injured, two of whom are children, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"Ambulance teams are currently transporting the injured to medical facilities in Belgorod," he said.
In a separate incident in the village of Mayskiy, one person was wounded after air defence forces successfully repelled an air attack.
"The ambulance team provided on-site assistance to a man with a shrapnel wound to the head, but he refused hospitalization," Gladkov added.
The attack marks another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, as the Belgorod Region, which borders Ukraine, has frequently come under fire. The latest strike has heightened concerns about the safety of civilians in the area, with local authorities urging residents to stay alert and follow safety guidelines.
The Russian government has condemned the attack, calling it an act of aggression against civilian populations. Meanwhile, the situation remains tense as emergency response teams continue to assist the injured and assess the damage.
