UN backs Azerbaijan’s drive to achieve Sustainable Development Goals
The UN Country Team is committed to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Azerbaijan, acting UN Resident Coordinator and representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Azerbaijan Muhammad Nasar Hayat has said.
Hayat made these remarks during the second Baku Forum on Sustainable Development, Trend reports.
“The UN is committed to continuing to engage the interested sides and help create a collaborative working environment to accelerate Azerbaijan’s progress towards achieving the SDGs,” he noted.
The acting UN Resident Coordinator underscored that there is a platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge between countries thanks to this forum to accelerate progress in achieving the SDGs.
“I am confident that the insightful panel discussions, knowledge sharing, and best practices during the two-day event will be an important tool to develop new approaches and stimulate innovative solutions to maximize financing for the SDGs and in the region,” he added.
