UN pledges support for Azerbaijan’s WUF13 forum in Baku
The United Nations has expressed readiness to provide systematic support for Azerbaijan’s hosting of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), describing it as a significant milestone on a global scale, according to Igor Garafulic, UN Resident Coordinator ad interim in Azerbaijan.
Speaking to a meeting of the Joint High-Level Steering Committee on the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in Baku, Garafulic emphasised that WUF13 offers a unique opportunity to showcase Azerbaijan’s achievements in sustainable urban development, climate resilience, and inclusive growth, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He praised Azerbaijan for strengthening international partnerships and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to him, WUF13 provides a unique opportunity to showcase Azerbaijan’s achievements in sustainable urbanisation, climate resilience and inclusive growth.
The forum will also serve as a platform to strengthen international partnerships and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He also underscored the UN’s commitment to working closely with national partners to ensure the forum’s outcomes align with shared priorities and deliver long-term development impact.
