US envoy believes Azerbaijan to increase gas supplies to EU

US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger has said he believes that Azerbaijan will increase gas supplies to the EU countries.

The greater volumes in supplies of Azerbaijani natural gas will help the EU reduce dependence on Russian gas, he said at a briefing on June 9, according to Report.

“We are discussing with Azerbaijan the ways of raising gas supplies, or even better, double them,” Litzenberger said.

The envoy also focused on the "green" energy sources, including solar and hydrogen, having emphasized the essentiality of Azerbaijan’s role in this matter.
