US swimmer breaks 12-year world record at Paris 2024
US swimmer Bobby Finke clinched the gold medal in the 1500m freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, setting a new world record with a time of 14 minutes 30.67 seconds.
Finke's remarkable performance shattered the previous record of 14:31.02, set by China's Sun Yang in August 2012. This victory marks Finke's second medal in Paris, following his silver medal finish in the 800m freestyle, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri secured the silver medal with a time of 14:34.55, while Ireland's Daniel Wiffen took bronze, finishing in 14:39.63.
