WB: Azerbaijan's private sector development requires special attention
World Bank Country Manager in Azerbaijan Sarah Michael has said that the country should pay special attention to the development of the private sector to achieve its economic development goals.
The Azerbaijani economy has been actively developing, in particular, GDP has grown, and the level of poverty has sharply decreased since gaining independence, she noted, Report informs.
Initially, the country's economy relied on oil and gas production, however, the development of the non-oil sector has recently become one of the priorities.
Michael added that the country's economy will develop even more intensively, taking into account the five main goals of the country.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways company Rovshan Rustamov received the delegation of the World Bank headed by Regional Director for the South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus, Report informs.
According to the report, information on the main directions of the organisation's activity plan for 2023 was presented at the meeting.
