Western Azerbaijan Community slams EU envoy for engaging with anti-Azerbaijan elements
Recent reports have revealed that former Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian has been meeting with Toivo Klaar, the European Union representative for the South Caucasus, as well as other Western figures. Oskanian chairs some "commission" established by the non-existent "parliament" of the non-existent "nagorno-karabakh republic" to carry out activities against Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
The Western Azerbaijan Community has condemned these interactions as a display of political hypocrisy that exacerbates regional tensions, Caliber.Az reports.
According to a statement from the Western Azerbaijan Community, "Toivo Klaar inexplicably avoids engaging with our community, despite our support for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Instead, he meets with Vardan Oskanian, a former foreign minister under the regime of Robert Kocharyan, known for his involvement in the Khojaly genocide and racist policies."
The community also criticized Klaar for denying the right of return for Western Azerbaijanis while claiming this right solely for Armenians, accusing him of addressing the issue through religious and ethnic biases despite his rhetoric on democracy and human rights.
"The fact that rogue organizations with a militaristic agenda and some 'commission' led by people like Vartan Oskanian can freely operate in Armenia shows that this rapidly militarizing country is not interested in peace with Azerbaijan and is acting from a revanchist position. Armenia must abandon the path where it talks about peace in words, but in reality, collaborates with elements like Ocampo and Oskanian that escalate the situation," the Community stated.
