WUF13: China, Azerbaijan have strong potential to expand cooperation
China and Azerbaijan have the potential to expand cooperation in education, urbanism and urban design, Xin Li, director of the Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute (TJUPDI) in Shanghai, has stated on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In an interview with Report, he said the forum plays an important role in global urban development by bringing together discussions, exhibitions and the exchange of experience among countries.
“At WUF13, we can see the state of urban development worldwide. Here, we have the opportunity to bring together discussions, exhibitions, and ideas about the future of cities,” he noted.
Xin Li added that one of the main aims of the Chinese delegation’s participation is to share China’s experience in urban development with the international community.
He also highlighted the importance of building an international network of cities to support educational cooperation and the exchange of expertise in urban design.
“Personal interaction is also very important, as face-to-face meetings play a significant role in education,” Xin Li said.
