WUF13 second day in Baku opens with first-ever leaders’ summit
The second day of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) has begun in Baku, bringing together global policymakers, urban experts and international organisations to address pressing challenges in urban development.
For the first time in the history of the forum, a Leaders’ Summit will be held today, on May 18, marking a significant addition to the WUF agenda, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The official opening press conference is also scheduled for the second day of the event. Discussions are expected to focus on key global priorities, including the housing crisis, the development of safe and sustainable cities, urbanisation policies, and strengthening urban resilience.
Throughout the day, several high-level meetings are planned, including the Joint Assemblies Closing Ceremony, a gathering of African regional ministers, and a session of MINURVI—the Forum of Ministers and High-Level Authorities of Housing and Urban Development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
More than 40,000 participants from 182 countries have registered for WUF13, which will continue in Baku until May 22.
