Yerevan police detain dozens of protesters demanding PM Pashinyan's resignation
Armenian police detained 30 protesters who demanded Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation in front of the government building in the centre of Yerevan last night.
"Criminal cases have been opened against 28 of them, and administrative cases have been opened against 2 of them," the Interior Ministry press service told TASS.
On September 20, thousands of protesters gathered in the Armenian capital to denounce the Armenian government's perceived failure to support Armenian separatists in Garabagh, after the separatists were forced to surrender following a one-day anti-terrorist measures by Azerbaijan.
The protesters gathered in Republic Square in the heart of Yerevan. Many demanded the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who presided over the defeat of Azerbaijan in a 2020 war, and now the final collapse of Garabagh's Armenian authorities.
